Commitment
The Institute for Global Peacecraft works to make its website accessible to all users, including persons with disabilities. It aims at the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 of the World Wide Web Consortium at level AA. This page states what is in place, what is not yet in place and how content can be obtained in another format.
Measures in place
The site is built so that its content can be read and operated in more than one way:
- a link to the main content is the first element on every page;
- the menus and other controls can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the element in focus is clearly outlined;
- the language of every page is declared, so that screen readers pronounce it correctly;
- navigation areas and breadcrumbs are labelled for assistive technologies;
- images carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative images are marked as such;
- the three United Nations documents published on the site are tagged PDF files, as the United Nations issued them;
- pages use a consistent structure of headings in sentence case, plain language and short paragraphs, and link text describes the destination.
Known limitations
The site has not yet been tested in a full audit against WCAG 2.1 level AA, and colour contrast has not yet been measured on every page. One of the United Nations documents on the site, E/C.2/2025/CRP.48, runs to 149 pages; the Institute’s statement is on page 103. The Institute is working to address these limitations within its resources.
Alternative formats
Any content on the site can be requested in another format, such as large print, plain text or an accessible document, by writing to [email protected] with the subject line “Accessible format”.
Feedback
We welcome reports of accessibility barriers on the site. Please write to [email protected], describing the page and the barrier encountered. We reply to every report and address the barrier where we can.
