A small, focused team. The Institute is led by its founding director and powered each year by a cohort of research interns who carry out the analysis behind our work.
Anders Reagan founded the Institute after recognising that the peace field lacked a shared operational definition that could bridge its diverse approaches. He has worked with grassroots organisations in Mexico, Geneva, and Sweden, and has studied peace conceptualisations across philosophical traditions.
He holds an MA in International Peace Studies from the UN-mandated University for Peace, an MA in Theology with a specialisation in Human Rights from Uppsala University, a BSc in International Relations, and a BA in Philosophy from Stockholm University.
Our autumn research interns contribute to the 61 Peace Definitions Review, evaluating how peace is defined across the academic literature.

Tessy Salano is a recent graduate of University of Nairobi, Kenya where she pursued her Masters of Development Studies. As a researcher her focus is the interplay between peace, security and development. She is keen on generating evidence that informs inclusive and trauma-responsive approaches to peacebuilding and development in post-conflict settings.
Elisa is studying for the joint MA in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Kent and Philipps-Universität Marburg, after a BA in Comparative European and International Legal Studies at the University of Trento.
Anna is studying for a BA in International Relations at Fluminense Federal University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Alva is studying for a bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at Lund University, Sweden.
Harvey holds an MA in International Relations from the University of York and an LLB in Law from the University of Leeds.
Zander is studying for an MSc in East Asian Politics at SOAS University of London, after a BA in Philosophy at the University of Lincoln.
Amy is studying for an MA in International Affairs at Carleton University in Ottawa, concentrating on conflict, fragility and development, after a BA in Political Science at the University of Toronto.
